My name is Dasha and here is my story.
I am a fully qualified and insured Sports Massage Therapist with an Advanced Diploma in Sports Therapy as well as Rehabilitation. I am also a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and I continue to develop my knowledge in order to not just treat symptoms but mange it as a whole and improve the overall function and well being.
Growing up in Poland, I always loved the outdoors and being active, I had a keen interest in athletics, competing for my county in the 800 as well as 1500 metres. I was also lucky enough to live very close to the beautiful Karkonosze mountains (click here to check them out). This allowed me to develop a passion for Rock climbing and skiing. Being a climbing girl led to lots of fun times and great adventures, but also injuries. I suffered from a complete ACL tear, a Lebral tear with cam impingement in the hip as well as many finger pulley injuries. These injuries although painful and demoralising proved to be a turning point in my life.
After having surgery to reconstruct my ACL, I had a long process of rehabilitation, something that was new to me. The healing journey can be very individual and isolating, I found the experience overwhelming but it also developed my interest in the body.
I developed an interest and passion for learning about the body, injury prevention and rehabilitation as well as nutrition, which plays big part in the recovery process. This eventually lead to me moving from a desk job and qualifying as a Sports Massage Therapist.
I hope you enjoyed my story, feel free to get in touch for help or advice or just to say hello!
